Welcome by President Friedrich

05 02 Romans 5 verse 1
When preceded by the word “only,” we have at our finger tips, in these three words, the heart of the Reformation message. During the past year we have, with Lutheran Christians around the world, especially with our brothers and sisters in Christ of The Nebraska District of The Lutheran Church — Missouri Synod, celebrated onlyOnly by God’s grace alone, through faith alone on the basis of Holy Scripture alone are we saved through the person and work of Jesus Christ, the one and only Savior of the world.

While some may have used this year to remember or reclaim their Lutheran heritage, we use it to boldly confess and celebrate who we always have been: a Lutheran, Christian university in the Nebraska District and a member of the Concordia University System of the Lutheran Church — Missouri Synod founded by women and men who desired to equip students to learn, serve and lead in God’s church and world. Since 1894 we have been about the joyful task of equipping students with the Gospel of Jesus Christ for an array of vocations in God’s church and world.

Today, Concordia University Nebraska is a thriving institution of more than 2,600 students, 180 full-time faculty and staff 22,000 alumni serving worldwide. It is our desire only to equip a new generation of students and to have a lifelong impact upon all with whom we interact so that more may know, believe, teach and confess the Good News of Jesus Christ.

Thank you if you were able to join us for one or many of the Reformation events at Concordia. If you were not able to be present it is my prayer that, by viewing these event videos on our home page, you would be edified and strengthened for service in the vocations to which you have been called.
